Just a precursor, this post is entirely for my husband. Coming from a family of 5 girls we didn't do much hunting as you can imagine, yet I married a man who would spend every free minute doing it if he had the choice. This picture was taken on Halloween (hence the overalls I'm wearing, they were part of the costume. I'm not trying to bring them back......yet). Dave somehow talked me into going down to his Grandpa's farm early and walking the fields and as he put it, "we hardly ever see a pheasant so it will just be a nice little walk." So I agree to this nice little walk. Within 5 minutes, Dave had shot three birds, and I was severely traumatized seeing these birds fight for their lives. I've never seen someone beam with such joy over taking a beautiful birds life and I'm pretty sure I could use a good counseling session! I'm pretty sure I have heard him tell this story like a proud father at least a hundred times since then, so I thought I'd dedicate a blog to be a proud wife since beknownst to me, this is pretty unheard of. Who knew that such opposites would attract. I agreed to this picture simply because it meant the world to my husband...and it pretty much sums up the feelings for the day!

And after much prodding, he finally got me to smile (plus he thinks this picture shows of his "birds" better).

Sick, I don't get it but I'm with ya Suz... Andy has one that he wants to hang somewhere inside along with a 10 foot long baleen (part of a whale's mouth). They're both hanging in our shed. LOVE the overalls :)
I can't stop laughing. It is so not you. Riley is having a good laugh as well. I am so excited for you, little boys are the best. Glad that you started a blog.
gross. What is he going to do with those birds???
Oh you poor thing!!! I completely understand! It did make for a great picture though!
Are those your cool fitted and flare overalls from high school? Or maybe even middle school? Those were so cool...I remember borrowing them! ;)
