Total Believer

Wow. Wow. Wow. I've been sugar free for almost a week now and I honestly cannot believe the difference it has made! I feel the need to bear my testimony about sugar free living! Coming from me, this is nothing short of a miracle. I was the one who thought people who went sugar free were total weirdos. I can't believe that I have stood strong...I even went to lunch at my favorite spot The Hungry Bear today and for the first time EVER, didn't get a sugar cookie.

Now to the best part....I have been in poor health for the last year it feels like and since I've been sugar free, I feel like I am myself again. I don't know if it's the sugar or if it is something else but something in my body clicked. I about broke down in tears this morning because I feel like in the last week I've gained my life back. I guess I can't say for sure it's the sugar, but I am 100% different then a week ago! I've finished all the projects I've been wanting to get too, I'm showered and exercised before Knox wakes up from his morning nap, and don't take naps during the day anymore. Have I mentioned I feel amazing? A-MAZ-ING!

On to my other goal...last night was the Bachelor and after an hour of being on the treadmill, my hips and knees killed! I had been on my feet all day so instead of going the full 2 hours, I justified by running my guts out for an additional 20 minutes. So only 40 minutes short? Still counts in my book. I did more exercise in one night then I have in the entire year. Oh yeah, I've worked out hard every day since I went sugar free. See, I can do it with a little motivation! I know it's lame, but posting this on my blog has helped tremendously because my friends all know of my goal and are watching to see if I fall! Love my new life, forget 2 weeks this may be permanent!

I know, I know, totally lame post. So I will post a picture and be on my way. I feel like I can finally keep up with these two! I'm a totally better mom and wife now that I have some energy back...

They're cute huh? Oh yeah, and did I mention I feel amazing?

Suz that is so awesome! I'm so glad you are feeling better. When I get back to feeling better I'm going to do the no sugar thing and see if it will help me:)

AWESOME!! I'm so happy you are feeling better!

This might be what I need to kick my butt into gear. I've been reading tons of things online about sugar addiction and I'm positive I'm addicted. I also feel like I have no energy and feel bleh a lot of the time. I keep hearing good things about going without sugar, but I needed to hear from someone I know and trust. THANKS! I'll let you know when I start. (I would say next week but I'm potty training next week and will most likely not be able to do both at the same time. haha)

Keep it up!

SUZY!! I'm so happy that you have your life back! You are inspiring. I really can't imagine going with out a speck of sugar. I have it everyday in some form! But I know you're right. A lot of people in my family in Utah have gone sugar free and swear that it's the cure to cancer and anything else that makes one feel not him/herself. I am so proud of you. 1 week down...and it will only get easier! Lame to say, but YOU GO GIRL!

I am so glad you post this because it motivates me. I totally failed in the first day and this makes me want to do it so bad. For the last 6 months or so I have been feeling so lazy and that I have no energy. I would love to feel amazing just like you and so I am in, for real this time! I just watched a Dr. oz that motivated me too.

You rock! Keep up the good work!

P.S. I am shocked you didn't get a cookie and the quilted bear, who passes up those, nobody!! I don't think I could have done that. I so admire you!

YAY!!! So glad you're feeling better! I swear good diet and exercise would cure a lot of people's "ailments" physical and emotional, but that is a rant for another day ;). You looked totally cute today by the way; wish we'd had more time to visit.

We are mostly sugar free too (Jae completely although every now and then I have a teeny tiny splurge) and we make everything with Agave nectar. BEST stuff I have ever used to replace sugar! You can make all the cookies, cake, candy, etc you like with Agave and you wont have a shred of guilt since it doesn't raise your blood sugar level and is actually good for you. I use fresh ground whole wheat in any treats I make (since the white flour turns into sugar in your body.) So I HIGHLY recommend getting a gallon (or even a smaller amount if you want to test it first.) You can have some of ours if you want to try it before spending any money.
