When I found out I was pregnant, I think I cried for a week because I realized I wouldn't be able to go home for Christmas. Adding to my sorrow, we only had room for one box of decorations coming out and I chose "Fall" since I knew we'd be home for Christmas. Knowing that we'd be here having our own Christmas, I just couldn't stand the thought of no Christmas decorations! If you know me, you know there are few things I love more than my Christmas decor! I gave myself a $15 budget from my piano teaching budget and between the Salvation Army and Dollar Tree, I was able to do a few things! It helped that by some amazing miracle, there was a little tree left downstairs by someone who lived here previously!

I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas countdown chain with Knox. Apparently I didn't gauge my target audience correctly because all he wants to do is rip the thing down and shred the paper! Good practice for next year I guess!

Adding to my Christmas decor, we made an advent calendar at craft group that I love! You just decorate little matchboxes and using magnets they stick to a cookie sheet. Since I'm not crafty by nature, it was so fun for me to make, and most importantly I didn't screw it up!

Keeping with the Christmas spirit, we attended the annual Scranton Christmas parade and it definitely exceeded my expectations! I didn't think Scranton would put on a very big parade, but it was a mini Macy's parade! Giant blow-ups and all! One thing I did learn from this parade...Scranton is the mecca for baton twirling! I have never seen so many baton twirling groups in my life! We went early and it was a little chilly....

Knox loved it way more than we thought he would...he was entertained for the full 2 hours.

But all the candy chasing and sirens wore the little fella out. He could barely keep his head up on the way back...

And as the holiday season approaches I can say I have taken only 2 belly shots to date. Man, the second pregnancy is nothing like the first! Keeping up with a busy toddler sure changes things! Here I am at 31 weeks....

I am carrying this kid completely different than I did Knox. He is low, busy, and painful!
Let the Christmas season begin! Now if we could just get some snow....

I'm scared to wish for snow!!! :) First, I'm excited to see your decorations in person! Ya done good girly! You'll have to share some of your secrets...we have a small budget and I want to decorate for christmas too :) And hey....to accompany your decor, I expect some christmas music :)
I am very impressed at your thrifty Christmas decor! And who leaves a small Christmas tree behind? So perfect! Your house is SO CLEAN! You're my role model Suzy! And you look absolutely adorable...you really do pull off pregnancy beautifully! MISS YOU! I can't believe it has been almost a whole year since I saw you!
You are adorable. I can't believe how much stuff you got for $15! I only took 1 prenancy shot but I guess I missed out on 2 months of it. But the second is totally different. It kind of makes me feel guilty but I have to remember I am sure Matthew could care less how fat I was while pregnant with him... ha
You've made it to 31 weeks (when I deliever)! Oh how I can breathe so much better when I see women get up into the 30's. I'm now a paranoid maniac!
