Next up...one year!

I took Knox in a few weeks ago for his 9-month check up. I didn't realize how fast he's growing up until my pediatrician informed me that she'd be seeing me next at his one year appointment. I about died! One year? Wow! Still a LONG kid...

Weight: 21 lbs (66%)
Height: 32 inches (98%)
Head: Still 50%

I absolutely LOVE this stage. I can't get enough of him! A few of my favorites:
  • He cracks himself up. I'll be in the next room and hear him laughing to himself. He thinks he's pretty funny.
  • He bats at his spoon now when I feed him (not so much a favorite thing, but it's pretty funny).
  • He gives kisses.
  • Loves to play in the walker and is a fast little cruiser. The second I open the fridge or the dishwasher he is right behind me in that little thing.
  • Is loving mom more than ever.
  • Still no teeth, no hair.
He has the most tender little personality but can be feisty when he wants. I want to remember this about him, I think it's a precursor for things to come. For example, he goes to physical therapy every other week and HATES it. He hates having someone hold him down or manipulate him to do something he doesn't want to do. For the last 5 months we've been trying to get him to roll from his back to his tummy and when we'd make him do it he would scream forever. Needless to say, tummy time has been a nightmare but he has now learned to do it himself. Today at therapy, he rolled himself from his back to his tummy and was having a great old time playing on the mat with the toys. The therapist wanted to see him do it the other way, so she rolled him over from the other side to his tummy and he screamed. Just to test it, she let him roll himself and he went back to laughing and playing. We did it after, and he screamed and screamed. It was hilarious. Testy little fella! We've learned he will do things in his own time and by himself!

I took him to a little Christmas party last night that his therapy program was having and we tried another picture with Santa. I was hoping for a smile but the fascination prevailed. He, again, wouldn't take his eyes of Santa. He is obsessed with him.

This kid makes me laugh all day. I can't imagine life without him (obviously, he's about all I post about these days)!
