Finally A Date!

I know I've vaguely mentioned that I've had a little bit of a complication with this pregnancy. I've had what I call a messed up placenta, but the medical peeps like to call it placenta previa. Throughout my pregnancy the plan has always been to take this baby at about 36 weeks to prevent me from laboring at all on my own. They say about 99% of all placenta previa's resolve themselves at term, so each time I went in I was sure that it had moved and everything would be great. Well, it didn't exactly fix itself completely but it did move from complete, to marginal, to low lying. I can't tell you how much I've been blessed throughout this, I had a few problems at 20 weeks and since then...nothing big! I was a train wreck there for awhile because of course all you hear is the horror stories and they prepare you by saying that if you do start having problems, they have to take the baby immediately. Well if you know me, I'm about the biggest planner in the world so I had severe anxiety knowing that at any moment my child could be here. My poor husband, I was pressuring him at like 24 weeks to hurry up and finish the nursery! Apparently I needed an overdose lesson in patience.

The doc decided to send me to a specialist to see if I could hold out longer since I'm 36 weeks now and haven't had any problems. I met with him Friday and he said he'd let me go until 38 weeks before they take him c-section. Yay! Now I don't have to worry about having a preterm, little squirt! I'm mostly glad that now I don't have to do the amnio, I don't know why that freaked me out so much but his lungs should be good to go at 38. So two more weeks left for me, as long as I don't labor on my own that is...I guess I should knock on wood after saying how fortunate I've been with everything but if we've made it 36 weeks, what is two more right?

My husband would say we're ready and prepared but I of course feel like there is still so much to do and I'm so thankful for the additional 2 weeks. I would like to thank all of those people who hosted and attended showers for me, that helped so much in getting prepared. Being the awesome picture taker that I am, I of course didn't get one picture at the showers. Every single one of them was absolutely amazing. I was spoiled with some incredible loot:

Thank you so much to all of you! I have the best family, friends, and ward. I couldn't be more grateful for the people in my life. And here is my final belly shot...

So I made it through this pregnancy and still have time left to spare, who would have thought! We're excited to meet this little guy on March 8th!

Now all you have left to do is paint your belly! :) I painted mine like a giant baseball and it really was fun. Get that fun group of girls to do it for you! Good Luck!
