Baby Wes

Two weeks later and here I am finally posting about the newest member of our family! I guess what they say about two babies is true :) Little Wes is such a delight and we're so happy he decided to come to our family! The delivery went fantastic and it was such a different experience to have him healthy and with us!

Knox is adjusting to life as a big brother. He really didn't want much to do with him in the hospital until he realized they were both wearing hats...then he wanted a photo op!

Scranton may need some updating in pretty much everything but the hospital was amazing. The birthing suites there were nicer than any hotel we've ever stayed in. Props to our favorite nurse Cindy, she was the greatest swaddler I've ever seen...

Taking Wes home...

The first week home was a little rough on us, which explains why I'm so late posting this. The little guy just wasn't doing well. I couldn't figure out what it was, but I knew he wasn't acting like a regular newborn. Either that, or I had the crankiest baby on the planet. First, the poor guy contracted a bacteria infection in both eyes...so sad, he couldn't open his eyes for a few days and you should see the stack of rags we went through trying to keep them clean...

I took him to the doctor for the infection and we learned this little guy just wasn't putting on the weight, which is weird for my babies! After a few days I started seeing the same things I saw in Knox when we figured out he had silent reflux. I talked to the doc, we started him on meds, and within two days I had a new baby! Turns out he is pretty darn mellow after all! I had no idea a newborn could already have reflux! That is so mean. Welcome to the world Wes..here is some crazy bad reflux! I'd be pretty cranky too!

I took him in today for his 2-week check up and he is rapidly putting his weight back on! He is only 2 ounces away from his birth weight and an inch longer!

Dave loves to do the "Simba" pose. I tried to get him to paint his face too but he thought that might be taking it too far...

I feel like this is all over the place, which is probably due to the lack of sleep. I have to lastly thank this woman for saving us the last few weeks...

I can confidently say that I have the greatest mother in-law on the planet! I don't know how we'd have done it all without her here. Not only was it so nice to have a break from dishes, cleaning, laundry, etc. to recover, but it was so nice to have her here as company. I miss having her around to talk to! Knox wakes up in the morning and the first thing he says is, "Gama, where go?" We're all missing her around here. Greatest.lady.ever.

Thanks to the snow storm, today was my first day with the two kiddos. We're alive...and half functioning. No shower yet today, but we're all fed. I consider that a great success. Here we go....

That other post is super funny too about emailing that lady on Ambien. Too funny. Guess you really needed help and didn't know how to ask. :)
